Do you know how oysters form pearls? In response to an irritant in their soft tissue, they produce layers of nacre and cover it. Over time, in this wild and intricate alchemical process, it evolves into an iridescent, organic gem.
In a similar way, I believe in the power of turning towards what hurts and figuring out what is necessary for social change and collective wellbeing.
My work aims for liberation from cultural pressures, conditions, and power dynamics that make it hard to slow down, rest, heal, and enjoy life. I work to create more space for reclaiming and honouring our wholeness, needs, complexities, and embodied experiences in life and death.
Welcome.
I am a therapist, consultant, and social scientist who has spent two decades studying and eighteen years working in mental health.
I am deeply committed to:
Expanding collective consciousness
Reducing suffering
Freedom and empowerment
Experiencing life’s mystery with curiosity
The wild alchemy of grief
Collective healing
Reclaiming joy, pleasure, and creativity.
The bud
stands for all things,
even those things that don't flower,
for everything flowers, from within, of self-blessing;
though sometimes it is necessary
to reteach a thing its loveliness,
to put a hand on its brow
of the flower
and retell it in words and in touch
it is lovely
until it flowers again from within, of self-blessing
